Aloha Makana Aloha Makana is an authentic, Polynesian dance company located in the Triangle area of central North Carolina. Originally founded in 2004 by dancers who shared a love for various forms of Polynesian dance, Aloha Makana has expanded with a professional performing group and a variety of dance classes for keiki (children), teen and adult dancers of all levels. The island cultures of Hawai`i, Tahiti, Samoa and New Zealand are represented through dance, colorful costumes and cultural traditions that have been passed down through many generations. Traditional and contemporary dances are included in the dance repertoire, reflecting the continuing development of the living art of Polynesian dance. Aloha Makana dancers have performed in Hawai`i, Tahiti, Japan, Paris, Madrid, California, Washington, Virginia, Georgia and North Carolina.
